CSA- Eco Gardens Organic Farm- Half Bushel Subscriptions
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a partnership of mutual commitment between a community of supporters a a farm, which creates a direct link between the production and consumption of food. Supporters (CSA Members) cover a a farms yearly operating budget by purchasing a share of the season's harvest.
CSA members make a commitment to support the farm throughout the season and assume the costs, risks and bounty of growing food. In return, the farm provides, to the best of its ability, a healthy supply of seasonal, fresh produce throughout the growing season. Becoming a member creates a responsible relationship between people and the food they eat, the land which is grown, and those who grow it.
Harbin Hollow will serve as a pick up location on Wednesdays at 809 North Broadway for the Eco Gardens Organic Farm CSA in the 2021 growing season.
Eco Gardens is a multi family farm garden operation who grows organic berries and vegetables in Scottsville, KY. They follow strict guidelines and go far beyond those to build up the life and vitality of the soils. They use NO GMO seeds, no synthetic chemicals or fertilizers.
Half Bushel CSA deliveries usually begin in the first week of May when the strawberries, lettuce, kale, and green onions are ready. Broccoli, zucchinis, cucumbers, and tomatoes are usually right on its heels, with blueberries, watermelon, sweet corn and beans not far behind. Sweet potatoes, butternut, spaghetti and acorn squash, enter in late summer as early cool weather veggies fade. The Brussel sprouts and other cool weather crops follow as the weather cools again in the fall. Each half-bushel share will be packed with as many different veggies are in season that week.
